Pauline B. Rothenberger

Pauline B. (Heist) Rothenberger, 97, formerly of 1103 Elizabeth Avenue, Laureldale died December 3rd at 11:30 pm in the Phoebe Berks Health Care Center, Wernersville, where she had been since July 2002.

She was the widow of Russell E. Rothenberger, (Died June 30, 1991).

Born in Fleetwood, she was a daughter of the late Morris and Gertrude (Angstadt) Heist.

She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale where she was a volunteer for both the Senior Center and the Meals on Wheels program.

Rothenberger also had many hobbies, including playing bingo, baking and generally liked to be "on the go".

She worked for a number of years for both Dan Kelschner Hosiery Mill and Nolde Hosiery Mill, both in Fleetwood.

Rothenberger later worked as a waitress at the Wyomissing Club, Reading and last at Goodwill Fire Company, Muhlenberg Township before retiring.

She is survived by a son, Rodney L. "Rocky" Rothenberger of Temple.

Other survivors include a brother, Carl Heist of Fleetwood.

Rothenberger is also survived by two grandsons, Jeffrey husband of Teri (Godfrey) Rothenberger and Todd husband of Jill (Oberholtzer)Rothenberger.

There are also four great grandchildren, Eric, Kevin, Brooke and Noah Rothenberger.

She was predeceased by a son, Russell E. Rothenberger, who died in 1963 and a brother, Russell Heist.

Services will be Monday at 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Rev. Grant Wickert officiating. Viewing Sunday evening 6:30 - 8:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Phoebe Berks Health Care Center, 1 Reading Drive, Wernersville, Pa 19565.
