Pauline L. Opiloski

Pauline (Polly) Opiloski, age 91, passed away on August 19, 2020, at the Reading Hospital after a short

stay in hospice care. Her husband of sixty-seven years, Eugene Opiloski, predeceased her in 2016 and in

2018 she decided to move from their home of 60 years in Lincoln Park to the Highlands at Wyomissing,

where she resided until her death.

"Aunt Polly" (as she was known to many) was a lovely caregiver to not only her husband and family but

to many friends. She enjoyed cooking, bringing the family together to celebrate holidays and other

events, and doing crafts. She continued her love of crafts and social activities while at the Highlands.

Polly worked most of her life and genuinely enjoyed everything she did. She eventually (and reluctantly)

retired from Lucent Technologies and she and her husband did some traveling to visit family and friends,

including some travel abroad. Ant Polly loved collecting small items of beauty or interest from her

travels and from her shopping sprees. She always remembered a birthday or anniversary with a card

and a note that brought a smile to your face. Though she had no children of her own, she enjoyed

watching others' children grow and prosper and was always proud of their accomplishments. She also

enjoyed helping those in need either due to illness or advancing age, and was a volunteer at Berks Heim

for many years.

She is survived by a sister, Estelle M. Todaro (Wyomissing), two nieces – Susan L. Macey (Denver, CO)

and Anne Strouse (Grand Rapids, MI) three nephews – Thomas, David and James Todaro (Ohio), two

cousins, Sandy Stephan (Charlie) and Terry Melley, both of Reading, a number of great nieces and

nephews and other loving friends.
