Pauline M. Heffner

Pauline M. Heffner, 98, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at the Laurel Center in Hamburg, PA. Born in Port Clinton, she was the youngest of the eight children born to the late Charles J.J. and Sallie (Knoblauch) Sterner.

She graduated from Schuylkill Haven High School in 1943.

Her first job was as a machine operator at Burkey Underwear. She later worked as a floor girl at Fleetwood Shirt Company. She was a payroll clerk at Kutztown Shoe Inc. for 26 years, before serving as a bank teller at Hamburg Savings and Trust (now M&T Bank) from 1979 until her retirement in 1990. After retiring, she assisted her nephew in his accounting firm.

Pauline was a member of St. John's Church of Port Clinton, where she sang in the choir and at one time was a deacon. She was an excellent cook, an accomplished seamstress, knitter, and crocheter. As her grandchildren will attest, she was always good humored, and ready for an adventure: from roller skating to roller coasters!

Pauline is survived by her son-in-law Robert Regna, widower of Beverly, of Hillsdale, NJ; three grandchildren: Tracey, Randall, and Robert, Jr; six great-grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews and their families.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Beverley Regna.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Hamburg with interment at Drehersville Cemetery to follow. Viewing will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.
