Paulette S. Wagner

Paulette S. "Polly" (Schaeffer) Wagner, 98, formerly of West Reading, passed away November 4, 2015, in the Wyomissing Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Her husband, Howard "Bud" Wagner, died on May 19, 2001. Born in West Reading, she was the daughter of the late Oscar S. and Sara E. (Roth) Schaeffer.

She was a graduate of West Reading High School in 1935 and Miss Hoffman's School for Girls in 1938.

Polly was co-owner of the Mansion Bowling Center from 1952-1964 and later she operated the Fairground Skateland from 1950-1968.

She was past president of the West Reading Women's Club; former commissioner of the West Reading Shade Tree Commission; executive board member of the USO during WWII and the Korean Conflict; board member of PAL; and director of the Miss Reading Fair contest from 1946-1965.

Polly is survived by her son, Terry K., husband of Linda L. Wagner, Flying Hills; three granddaughters: Sionna, Jenni and Laura; and one great-granddaughter, Soren.

Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be in Good Shephard Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from noon to 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Contributions may be made to: Humane Society, 1801 North 11th St., Reading, PA 19604.
