Paula E. Mell

Paula E. Mell, 78, formerly of Hamburg, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, in the care of Freedom Pointe Place in The Villages, FL. She was the loving wife of David P. Mell with whom she shared 56 loving years. Born in Lancaster to the late Paul B. and Dorothy E. (Smith) Graybill, Paula enrolled in the Reading Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1964.

Anyone who had the pleasure of working with or being treated by Paula would remember her as an excellent and dedicated nurse. She worked in many aspects of healthcare, ranging from hospitals to private physician practices, and later to occupational and rehab specialties. From 1996 until 2000, Paula served as the president of the Berks Co. Occupational Health Nurses Association. Late in her career, she served as a Health and Safety contractor for Giorgio Mushrooms.

Retiring the same year as her husband, Paula and David enjoyed several wonderful years together.

Left to treasure Paula's memory are her husband; their grandchildren, Alexandria Steves and Austin Mell; two great grandchildren, Elaina and Jackson; and all the patients whose lives Paula touched. She was predeceased by her son, Shawn R. Mell.
