Paul Joseph Vasile, 90, formerly of Morgantown, died October 9, 2007 at 10:10 a.m. in the Reading Hospital, where he had been a patient since Monday.
He was taken there from the Golden Living Center, Exeter Township, where he had been a resident since April, 2005.
Paul was married July 20, 1942 to Mary Louise (Feeman) Vasile, a resident at the Golden Living Center. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this year.
Born September 23, 1917 in Cornwall, PA, he was a son of the late Rocco and Anna B.(Chervich) Vasile.
He was employed 44 years with Bethlehem Steel, retiring in 1981 as a maintenance foreman with the Grace Mines division.
Paul was a member of St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, Robeson Township.
He was an Army Veteran of WWII, where he received the Bronze Star.
Paul is also survived by a daughter, Mary L. wife of Robert L. Richards of Elverson.
Other survivors include six siblings, Annabelle widow of William Snook of Lebanon, Betty widow of Melvin Keller of Lebanon, Matilda wife of Fred Martin of Lebanon, Florence wife of Fred Sadler of Reading, Christine Lentz of Lebanon and Barbara wife of Sam Moore of Lebanon.
There are also two grandchildren, Nicole L. Henderson of Elverson and Robert L. II, husband of Teri L. (Comtois) Richards of Morgantown and two great grandchildren, Tyler L. Henderson and Keara L. Blosenski.
Many nieces and nephews; and cousins also survive him.
He was predeceased by a son, Paul J. Vasile Jr., who died in November 18, 1965.
Paul was also predeceased by six siblings, Vivian, Theresa, Mary, Thomas, Edwin and John.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Benedict's R.C. Church, 2020 Chestnut Hill Road, Mohnton, PA 19540, with the Rev. Msgr. Voltaire Roño celebrating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to Mass in the Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
