Paul L. Strausser

Paul L. Strausser, 82, of Windsor Township, died July 24, 2010 in the Laurel Center, Tilden Township. He was born in Richmond Township and was the son of the late Clarence L. and Elsie I (Wesner) Strausser. He was predeceased by his two wives, May Helen (Deisher) Strausser in 1983 and Fern (Stein) Strausser in July 2009. Paul had worked as a lead burner for 34 years for Prestolite Battery Works, Muhlenberg Township, and last worked as a cabinet sander for 5 years at Quaker Maid Kitchens, retiring in 1991. He was a member of St. John's (Gernants) UCC, Ontelaunee Township. He was a member of the Goodwill Fire Company and beneficial association, Hyde Park. He is survived by a son, John C. husband of Susan F. (Sweitzer) Strausser, with whom he resided. Other survivors include a brother, George E. husband of Shirley (Strause) Strausser, Maidencreek Township, a stepson, LeRoy husband of Peggy L. (Porter) Stein, Clarksville, Tenn., and two step daughters, June E. (Stein) wife of Robert A. Johnson, Chantilly, VA. and Diane L. (Stein)wife of Richard A. Hartman, Jr. Lower Heidelberg Township, 8 step grandchildren and 9 step great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Paulette D. Strausser in 1974. Memorial services will be Thursday at 11:00 AM in the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home,Inc. Hamburg. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Gernant's Cemetery, Ontelaunee Township.
