Paul E. Roppe

Paul E. Roppe, 88, of Wyomissing Hills, died December 6, 2009 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

His wife, Laura (Alves) Roppe, died October 1, 1999.

Born in Fall River, MA, he was a son of the late Phillas and Annonciade (Nadeau) Roppe.

Paul was a graduate of Durfee High School, Fall River, MA and in 1949 he graduated from the Boston School of Anatomy and Embalming.

He was a district manager for 37 years at the Morse Shoe Company, Boston MA, until his retirement.

Paul was a member of Lighthouse Christian Church, West Reading.

He loved reading and sitting in the sun. His greatest joy was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His great-grandson Jacob was his heart.

Paul was an U.S. Marine Corps veteran serving during WWII.

He is survived by his two sons, Paul E. Roppe, Jr., Sugarland, TX, Dennis Oliveira, Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and his daughter Dorothy Bernardo, Wyomissing Hills.

He is also survived by five grandchildren: Gary Skokowski, Elmwood Park, NJ, Randy Skokowski, Wyomissing Hills, Daryl Oliveira, Palm Beach Gardens, Lori Oliveira, Pittsburgh, PA and Kelly Sweigart, Wyomissing Hills. There are also nine great-grandchildren surviving: Rita Gail Oliveira, Jamie Sweigart, Tyler Miller, Brian Shatley, Jacob Fidler, Kaylee Fidler, Jordan Skokowski, Casey Skokowski and Logan Skokowski.
