Paul E. Richards

Paul E. Richards, 84, of 3318 Kutztown Road, Laureldale died August 13th at 2:44 a.m. in St. Joseph Hospital, Reading where he had been a patient since August 9th.

He was the widower of Ruth A. (Schoonover) Richards who died March 16, 1982.

Born in Laureldale, Pa he was a son of the late Effenger Richards and Nora Mae Shadel.

He was a member of Laureldale Borough Council for 34 years, where he was both the past President and Treasurer, last serving in 1999.

Richards was employed as a laborer for 37 years at Luppold Heating and Air Conditioning until his retirement in 1992.

He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale.

Richards was a Army Veteran of WWII.

He is survived by a daughter; Joyce L. (Richards) wife of Jon H. Sandberg of Fleetwood, and two sons; James E. husband of Jane J. (Lizak) Richards of Laureldale and Jerome P. husband of Linda L. (Mest) Richards Sr. of Barto, Montgomery County.

Other survivors include eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday August 15th at 10:00 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Viewing will be 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be private in Epler's Cemetery, Bern Township.
