Paul Henry Rhoads

Paul Henry Rhoads, 95, of Blandon, passed away Friday October 27, 2023, at the Providence Place Senior Living of Pottsville.

He was the loving husband of Jean Helen (Kershner) Rhoads. They married on April 21, 1951.

Born in Hamburg, he was a son of the late Paul V. and Hilda (Ernst) Rhoads.

He was a graduate of Hamburg High School.

Paul served our nation proudly and valiantly in the US Navy and in the US Army.

Paul, a diligent family man, co-owned and operated Kershner and Rhoads Painting and Wall Paper Hanging alongside his brother-in-law for an extensive period. He later worked for the US Postal Service until retiring at the rightful age of 80. In addition to his strong work ethic, Paul found joy in line dancing, playing bingo, and embarking on adventures across the country in his camper and also memorable cruises all over the world including Russia and Japan.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Ronald, husband of Ruth Rhoads, Hamburg; his daughter, Bonnie, widow of Thomas Werley, Fort Myers, Fl; two siblings, Robert, husband of Marion Rhoads, AZ, and Betty, widow of Raymond Keller, FL; two grandchildren, Ryan, husband of Katy Rhoads, Hamburg and Rory, husband of Sarah Rhoads, Cosmopolis, Washington State; and five great-grandchildren: Aiden, Mikael, Gabriel, Kalena, and Rorik Rhoads.

Paul was predeceased by four siblings: Gene Rhoads, Rose Marie Haddix, June, Grill, and May Kershner.

A viewing will be Friday, November 3, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 40 S. 4th St. Hamburg. Burial to follow with military honors at Zions Cemetery, 770 Zion's Church Rd., Hamburg.
