Paul R. Phillips

Paul R. Phillips, 82 of Hamburg died April 13, 2012 in the Lutheran Home at Topton. Paul was the husband of Marian Anna (Rentschler) Phillips of Hamburg. He was born in Walnuttown and was the son of the late Ralph and Ella (Keiter) Phillips. Paul was a Marine Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hamburg. He was also a member of the Union Fire Company #1 and Beneficial and the Hamburg Game Association, both of Hamburg. Paul worked 30 years for General Battery, Hamburg and for many of those years as a smelter. He last worked for the Hamburg Area School District as a custodian retiring in 2004. In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by 2 daughters, Carol A. (Phillips) wife of Larry Miller, Windsor Township, Linda L. (Phillips) Slaby, Sodus, NY, four grandchildren and one brother, Earl Phillips, Fleetwood. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 12:00 noon from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc., 40 S 4th Street, Hamburg, PA 19526. A viewing will be held from 11:00 AM until time of the service. Burial will be in Belleman's (Fairview) Cemetery of Centre Township.
