Paul B. McCarty, 83, of Temple, died July 2, 2009 at 2:20 a.m. in the Lebanon VA Hospital.
He was the widower of Marie C. (Canonico) McCarty, who died May 26, 2008.
Born December 8, 1925 in Pottstown, he was a son of the late Bernard Paul and Minnie P. (Kraus) McCarty.
Paul was a graduate of Pottstown High School.
He was employed as an independent contractor as well as a custodian for Muhlenberg High School.
Paul served in Central Europe, Rhineland in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he received the Medal of Good Conduct as well as the WWII Victory Medal.
Surviving is a daughter, Connie (McCarty) Palmer of Sebastian, Florida.
Other survivors include a step-son, Michael C. Spinka, Jr. of Temple and a step-daughter, Marianne C. (Spinka) Benton of Albany, NY.
In addition, there are five grandchildren, Jean M. (Spinka) Kreider, Michael J. Spinka, III, Tiffany M. Benton, Cristal D. Benton and Kevin Palmer and four great grandchildren, Joshua and Joey Gross, Sklah Kreider and Kendall Spinka.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
