Paul A. Hopp, 95, formerly of Cacoosing Ave., Sinking Spring and Country Meadows of Wyomissing died of natural causes August 24, 2006 at 9:05 am in ManorCare Health Services, Muhlenberg Township, where he had been since July 18th.

His wife, Helen M. (Kirschman) Hopp, died June 6, 2005.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Albert and Caroline V. (Stutzman) Hopp.

He was employed 26 years as an electrician at Hofmann Industries, Sinking Spring before retiring in 1976.

Paul was previously employed 13 years as a mechanic for Bohn's Auto Repair, West Reading until 1950.

He was an Army Veteran of WWII.

Paul was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Sinking Spring.

He was a founding father and life member of VFW Post #6150, Sinking Spring where he has served as a quartermaster adjutant for the last 15 years.

Paul is also a life member of the Disabled American Veterans; a member of the Reber-Moore Veterans Association, Shillington; Liberty (Sinking Spring) Fire Company #1 and an member of Sinking Spring Veterans Home Association.

He is survived by a daughter, Judith A. (Hopp) Sabol of Alsace Township.

Other survivors include two grandchildren, Jason B. husband of Stacy M. (Redner) Hopp of Lower Heidelberg Township and Joseph P. Sabol of Alsace Township. There are also three great grandchildren, Taylor M., Amber E. and Brendan R.

Memorial services will be Thursday at 10:00 am in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading with the Rev. Harry S. Bohn, Jr., officiating. Visitation Thursday 9:30 am until time of service. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading.
