Paul Franklin Henne, 87, formerly of Shoemakersville, and a resident of Maidencreek Place Assisted Living, Laureldale; passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at Reading Tower Health Hospital.
He was the loving husband of Joan Louise (Hafer) Henne. The couple married Valentine's Day 1953, and shared 67 years of marriage.
Born on November 18, 1933, in Myerstown, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Susan M. (Dierwechter) Henne. At the age of 4, his mother passed away, so he was raised by his aunt and uncle, Harvey N. and Margaret W. (Henne) Seyfert of Shartlesville, PA.
Paul retired from Reading Tube Corp. After retirement he enjoyed working part-time at the former Perry Golf Course, mowing and repairing the golf carts. He was an active member of the Salem United Methodist Church, Shoemakersville. He was also a member of the Shoemakersville Fire Co. and the Goodwill Fire Co. in Hyde Park. He was a past member and officer of the Shoemakersville Jaycees. In addition to his wife,
Paul is survived by four children: Sonja M. (Henne) wife of Randall Rollman, Shoemakersville; Sheila K. (Henne) wife of Dean Clouser, Hamburg; Scott M. Henne and wife Maureen (Epting) of Carlisle; and Sheldon W. Henne and wife Suzanne (Runkle) of Wyomissing. There are 9 grandchildren: Amanda Deeter, Mohrsville; Travis Rollman, Strausstown; Nicholas Rollman, Hamburg; Dr.Ryan Clouser, Jericho, VT; Erin Wolfe, Milton, PA; Shannon Eighmie, Port St Lucie, FL; Erika Chaffee, Brimfield, MA; Tracie Henne, Wyomissing and Chad Henne, Lower Heidelberg Township.
There are thirteen great-grandchildren: Kohlby Rollman, Logan Rollman, Grayson Rollman, Dakota Deeter, Evan Rollman, Ava Rollman, Mason Clouser, Harper Clouser, Brady Wolfe, McKenna Chaffee, Charlotte Chaffee, Chace Henne and Hunter Henne.
Also surviving is a sister Grace (Henne), wife of Alexander C. T. Hartmann, NJ. Paul was predeceased by two brothers; Charles L. Henne and Ray D. Henne, and two sisters; Beatrice S. Sulewski and Marian D. Sonday.
Paul was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed traveling, family vacations, hunting, fishing and attending sporting events of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The service will be private for family only. The Henne family regrets to inform the public that online streaming of the service will now not take place. Burial will be at the Forest Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions my be made in Paul's memory to Salem United Methodist Church at the above address.
