Paul (Butch) J. Hedegard, 78, of Laureldale, died Monday, September 29th in his residence with his loving family by his side.

He was the husband of Bonnie Lee (Flick) Hedegard, whom he married November 4, 1961.

Born May 25, 1936 in Easton, PA, he was the son of the late Paul Marcel and Margaret Laura (Sullivan) Hedegard.

Butch was a 1954 graduate of Easton Catholic High School. Butch served in the U.S. Air Force during Peacetime.

Butch worked in sales and food service management for the Topton Lutheran Home, Olewine's Food Service and the Children's Home of Reading, retiring in 2001. In retirement he drove a school van for Eshelman Transportation and transported special needs students.

In 1942 at the age of six, Butch became a St. Louis Cardinal's fan and will forever remain the team's most loyal fan. A favorite pastime was being with his wife and friends at the Central Fire Company Beneficial Assoc. where he was a member and loved to jitterbug.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are his three children Deborah J. (Hedegard) Righter, Denise J. (Hedegard) Coleman, wife of James R. Coleman of Fleetwood, and Russell P. Hedegard, husband of Denise L. (Moll) Hedegard of Wernersville.

Butch's surviving grandchildren are: Laura M. (Righter) Bennetti, Amanda L. (Coleman) Madonia, wife of Benjamin Madonia of Tennessee, Nichole M. Hedegard, Douglas J. Coleman, and Amber M. Hedegard, and great grandchildren Olivya S., Julian Z., Hayden R., Jaevyen A., and Adrienne M.

Butch was predeceased by his two sisters: Helen Fitch and Jean Neary.

Services will be held Saturday, October 4th at 12 noon at Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale.

A viewing will be held from 10:30 AM until time of service. The burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Brandywine Youth Baseball Association c/o Paul Hedegard Fund, P.O. Box 65, Topton, PA 19562. Please wear your favorite baseball attire.
