Paul B. Grunzig

Paul Bruno Grunzig, 77, of Lincoln Park, passed away peacefully November 10, 2012 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where he had been a patient since Tuesday.

He was the husband of Joanne (Niskoch ) Grunzig, whom he married April 20, 1963.

Born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, on November 18, 1934, he was a son of the late Bruno F. and Randi (Klemp) Grunzig.

He was a 1952 graduate of Woodbridge High School (N.J.) and a 1962 graduate of Newark College of Engineering.

Paul was employed as an engineer for 29 years with GPU, Reading, before retiring in 1993.

He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Paul was a life member of the Lincoln Park & Liberty (Sinking Spring) Fire Companies, as well as a long time member of the West Wyomissing Fire Company.

Paul was a master Mason for over 40 years and a member of Chandler Lodge #227 F.&A.M.

He was a member of the A.A.S.R. Valley of Reading.

He loved working in his yard and water garden as well as his workshop where he made many wonderful projects. He loved helping friends and neighbors with outdoor projects such as decks, fencing and landscaping.

He enjoyed golfing with his son and brother-in-law as well as his grandson. He especially loved fishing with his good friends and family in Canada where he traveled to for over twenty years.

He is also survived by a son, Erik P. Grunzig, companion of Marcy Owens of Mohnton, two grandsons: Keith E. and Adam J. Grunzig and Brother-in-law James Niskoch, companion of Patricia McCarty all of Muhlenberg Township.

Other survivors include a family friend, Ellen D. (Deam) Grunzig of Muhlenberg Township.

Services will be private. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
