Paul L. Griffith

Paul L. Griffith, 99, formerly of Spring Township, passed away March 11 , 2016, at Phoebe Berks Village.

His wife, A. Hope (Johnson) Griffith, died on August 27, 1993.

Born in Altoona, he was a son of the late Howard E. and Nellie L. (Wicker) Griffith.

He graduated from Altoona High School in 1934 and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh College of Pharmacy in 1940.

Paul worked as a pharmacist for over 50 years. He was the owner of the West Reading Drug Store from 1948-1973 and continued to work in the pharmaceutical field until 1995.

He served in the U.S. Navy Merchant Marines during WWII.

Paul is survived by two children: Becky Kaag, of Wyomissing; Bonnie Weaver of Wallingford, Delaware County; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
