Paul S. Ebert, 69, of Partridge Circle, Algonquin, Ill., died of natural causes Oct. 22 in his residence.

He was the husband of Linda (Romig) Ebert, formerly of West Reading.

Born in Palmerton, Carbon County, he was a son of the late Paul and Ellen (Stoudt) Ebert.

He was a research scientist for the department of neurosurgery of the University of Maryland Medical School, Baltimore, for seven years, retiring in 1997. He had previously worked as a research scientist for 20 years at the National Cancer Institute, Bethesda, Md.

Ebert was a 1955 graduate of Penn State University and received a doctorate in biochemistry from Rutgers University in 1962.

He was an Army veteran.

He was a member of Willow Creek Community Church, South Barrington, Ill.

Ebert was listed in Who's Who in American Science.

He was an Eagle Scout.

Also surviving are a son, Robert P., Ridgewood, N.J., and a daughter, Mindy L. (Ebert) Stoms, Algonquin.

There are also a sister, Ann M. (Ebert) Rein, El Paso, Texas, and four grandchildren.

Brief services will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. in Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading. Graveside services will be at noon in Laureldale Cemetery, Tuckerton.
