Paul Charles Gardner

Paul Charles Gardner, 88, died October 22, 2014 in his Muhlenberg Township residence.

He was married September 13, 1947 to Eleanor Mae (Schoonover) Gardner, who died December 24, 2013.

Born in Quakertown, PA on February 16, 1926, he was a son of the late Paul S. and Helen (Endy) Gardner.

He was employed 31 years with General Public Utilities, Reading, before retiring as a supervisor of electronic maintenance in 1987.

Paul was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale.

He was a member of the Reading Radio Club; Quarter Century Wireless Association and Tri-County Wing Snappers Model Airplane Club.

Paul is survived by three children: April L., wife of Stephen L. Richards of Laureldale; Pamela E., wife of Steven W. Young of Muhlenberg Township and Brooke P., husband of D. Robin (Smith) Gardner of Muhlenberg Township.

Other survivors include three siblings: Ruth Levan, Doris Wieman and Joan Dutt, all of Muhlenberg Township.

There are also five grandchildren: Erika, Michael, Reece, Haley and Maren and four great grandchildren: Alyvia, Isabella, Sofia and Liam.

He was predeceased by three siblings: Jack Gardner, Earl Gardner and Ardella Hart.

Services will be held Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 11:00 am in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Viewings will be held Monday evening 6:30 - 8:00 pm and Tuesday morning 10:30 - 11:00 am in the funeral home.

Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading.
