Dr. Paul Charles Aita, 83, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025, in the care of Reading Hospital. Married on July 11, 1964, he and his wife, Marianne J. (Mignogna) Aita, shared 61 years of marriage. Born in Bristol, PA, he was a son of the late Saverio Joseph II and Palma (Baiocchi) Aita.

Paul graduated from La Salle College High School. He attended the University of Michigan and University of Pennsylvania, and he graduated from Hahnemann Medical College. He completed his general surgery residency at Abington Memorial Hospital. Dr. Aita specialized in general and peripheral vascular surgery. He served his country honorably in the Navy Medical Corps, including at the US Naval Hospital of Philadelphia, and was discharged as a Lieutenant.

In addition to his work as a surgeon at the Reading Hospital, Dr. Aita taught as a clinical associate professor at both the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University Schools of Medicine and served as Chairman of General Surgery at the Reading Hospital. He continued to volunteer his time at the hospital's surgical clinics.

Paul was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed golf, swimming, and taking care of his home and yard.
