Patricia A. Witman, 76, of Kenhorst, died November 19, 2012 in Berks Heim.

She was the wife of Jack R. Witman.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Ruth E. (Loewen) Schatz.

She was a gradutate of Reading High School in 1954 and attended both Kutztown University and Albright College.

Patricia was in education for over 30 years. Her roles as an educator included: head start and special education at Glenside for the Reading School District. She was also the Program Director for Reading Urban Ministries Summer Youth Program for many years.

Her faith was very important to her. She was a member of the choir, the handbell choir and directed the youth handbell choir. She was also a member of the Ringaliers.

She loved to cross stitch. Patricia was very social as she loved to talk and play card games and enjoyed arts and crafts. Writing poetry was another of her favorite hobbies.

Patricia loved her family, enjoying family vacations to the beach. She is survived by her children, Michelle E. Witman, Kenhorst; Scott R. Witman, Reading and David W., husband of Anetta Witman, Oley. Eight grandchildren, Lauren, Ashley, Leah, Zachary, Shaye, Christian, Sarah and Benjamin; and four great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Isabella, Carter and Malachi also survive her.

Services will be Wednesday at 12 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemeterey. Friends may call Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the funeral home. Contributions may be made to: Michael J. Fox Foundation www.michaeljfox.org.
