Patricia Wahlman

Patricia Marie "Pat" (Lyon) Wahlman, 54, passed away May 24, 2016, in her Wyomissing residence.

She was the loving wife of Robert Eugene Wahlman. They were married in Brooklyn, NY on October 6, 1984.

Born in Trenton, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Dorothy (Kepler) Lyon.

Pat was a graduate of Hamilton High School, Hamilton, NJ, in 1978; Louisiana State Medical College School of Nursing in 1983, and earned a master's degree in Nursing Administration from George Mason University, Fairfax, VA, in 1989.

She was first employed as a RN for St. Elizabeth Hospital and Charity Hospital, both in New Orleans; and later worked at Fairfax Hospital, Fairfax, VA and Psychiatric Institute of Washington, Washington, DC.

Pat was a member of St. Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Church, New Hope.

She was loved by her children, family, friends and husband and she generously returned that love to them with selfless dedication.

Pat was a very giving person; she took great pride in the fact that she had raised three seeing eye dogs in her home for the The Seeing Eye, Inc., of New Jersey. Her most recent puppy recently began his training to be a seeing eye dog.

Most recently she volunteered for the Reading Public Museum assisting with the plants and flowers.

Pat was an avid walker, last walking five miles on Sunday with her husband, Bob. She was a life-long tennis player including a long stint in the Bucks-Mont League where she reached the regional finals.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons: Eric Nathaniel, Bloomsburg, PA; Philip Michael, a graduate student at Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, NC, and Paul Robert, a student at The College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, VA. Three siblings: Robert, husband of Ann Lyon, Columbia, SC; Christopher J., husband of Jan Lyon, Honeoye Falls, NY and Jeanette Lyon, Austin, TX also survive her.

A visitation will be held Friday, May 27, 2016, from 5 to 7 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, PA. An additional visitation will be held Saturday, May 28, 2016, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in St. Martin of Tours RCC, 1 Riverstone Cir, New Hope, PA 18938. Words of remembrance will be shared beginning at 10:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 28, 2016, at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
