In the gentle breeze that whispers through the trees, in the warmth of the sun that kisses our skin, and in the serene glow of the moonlight, we feel the presence of Patricia Taylor, who was lovingly called to Heaven on April 2nd, 2024, leaving behind a world infinitely brighter for her presence.
She was born on March 11th, 1936, in Reading, PA, to the late Steven and Anna (Woytko) Katrinak. Patricia was predeceased by her late husband, Burton Taylor, and her siblings, Michael Katrinak and Christine (Katrinak) Salvatore. Patricia's surviving children are Kevin Taylor, husband to Sherrie Taylor, and Kimberly (Taylor) Dalius, wife to Eric Dalius. She has grandchildren: Brad Dalius, Jacklyn Dalius, Brandon Taylor, and Dillon Taylor.
A devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and loyal friend, Patricia nurtured those around her with an open heart and an open door, creating a home filled with laughter, warmth, and the aroma of her famous Golumpki. Her hands, always busy with gardening, wove a tapestry of flowers, love, and care that draped over her home. She was also an avid sports fan of the Phillies, Eagles, Penn State Football, NASCAR, and Indy Car, making every conversation interesting. She always wound down the day with the must-read of the Reading Eagle.
Beyond the walls of her home, Patricia was a key puncher at Talbot Knitting Mills and then a teacher's aide for many years at St. John the Baptist De La Salle Elementary School, where her passion and dedication left an indelible mark on all of her students.
Patricia's love story with Burton Taylor began on a blind date to Penn State University; unbeknownst to her, he would be her lifelong partner and husband. Together, they built a life rich in memories and a foundation of love for their children, Kevin and Kim, and instilled the values of compassion, resilience, and unconditional love.
As we bid farewell to Patricia, we are reminded that though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the beauty of nature, in the warmth of our memories, and in the love that binds us together. She is now our guardian angel, watching over us with the same tenderness and care she did in life.
A prayer service to celebrate Patricia's life will be held on Friday, April 12th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Gethsemane Mausoleum Chapel of St. George. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bay Oaks, the retirement home in Miami, Florida, where Patricia lived for the last six months of her life.
Though our hearts are heavy, we are comforted by the thought that Patricia has found peace in the embrace of Heaven, surrounded by angels as beautiful as she was. Rest in peace, dear Patricia, until we meet again. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, is entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
