Patricia Mae Smith

Patricia Mae (Eckenroth) Smith, 70, of Lower Heidelberg Township, passed away January 6, 2013 in Phoebe Berks Heath Center.

She was the wife of Jerre Bretz Smith, Sr., whom she married 51 years ago on June 23, 1962.

Born May 22, 1943 in Coatesville she was a daughter of the late Louis Harry Eckenroth and Dorothy Hazel (Schaeffer) Eckenroth-Gregor.

She was a 1962 graduate of Reading High School.

Patricia worked as a secretary for Berks Co. Trust, Reading; Adelphia Seafood, West Lawn; and retired in 1992 from Reading Hospital School of Nursing.

She was a member of Zion EC Church, Mohnton.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Jerre B., Jr., husband of Teya B. Smith. Sanford, NC, and Michelle Anne, wife of Richard A. Reaser, Sinking Spring. Also surviving are her sister, Lynn L, wife of David H. Campbell, Spring Township; and her three grandchildren: Brandon M. Reaser, Austin M. Reaser, and Lauren Ann Smith.

Patricia was predeceased by her sister, Sharon E. Evans, who died in August, 2001.

Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, PA 19611. A viewing will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either Animal Rescue League of Berks County, P.O.
