Patricia Scargle

Patricia (Toye) Scargle, 76, of Whitfield, passed away April 12, 2009 in Reading Hospital.

She was the wife of George E. Scargle.

Born in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Thomas F. and Petronella (Kenney) Toye.

Patricia was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in 1950.

She was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.

Patricia was employed by St. Joseph's Hospital at the information desk from 1988 until her retirement in 2001.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Kathleen, wife of Jonathon McCormick, Sommerville, MA; four sons, Thomas, husband of Elizabeth, Kennett Square; George Jr., Whitfield; Patrick, husband of Maria, Wyomissing and Joseph, husband of Lori, Wyomissing; and her sister, Mary Lou Toye, Flying Hills. Eight grandchildren, Joseph Scargle, Jr., Laura Scargle, John McCormick, Caitlin Scargle, Matthew Scargle, Aidan Scargle, Hannah Scargle and Owen Scargle also survive her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in St Ignatius Church. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading.
