Patricia J. Rehr, 83, of Reading, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 4, 2026, in the care of the Residence at Village Green. She was the loving wife of William H. Rehr, III, who passed away on May 31, 2026.
Born in Reading to the late Joseph P. and Grace C. (Boas) Gallagher, Pat graduated from Central Catholic in 1960. She was a faithful member of Saint Margaret's parish for many years and sang in the choir.
While expertly running the household and raising four children, Pat worked as an Avon lady for over 50 years. She loved the arts, especially acting and singing, and enjoyed many supporting roles at the Reading Civic Theatre and Genesius Theatre. She was also an extra in a vampire movie and had a small non-speaking part in an episode of a real life crime series. She was a huge Reading Fightin' Phils and Reading Royals fan. After her family, her next greatest treasure was her beloved Springer Spaniels.
Left to treasure Pat's memory are her children: Christine M. Perniski, fiancé of James Geraci, of Wyomissing; Sheila A. Esposito of Hillsdale, NJ; Maureen B. Bischler, wife of Robert, of Reading; and Thomas J. Rehr, husband of Stephanie, of Reading; grandchildren: Celeste Rehr; Gabrielle Brugger, wife of Ryan; Michael Esposito; Matthew Esposito; Jack Esposito; Alexandria Bischler; Jessica Bischler; Kylie Bischler; Joshua Rehr; Victoria Rehr; and Makayla Weaver; and great grandchildren, Connor James Himmelreich, Paisley Cox, and two more expected. She is also survived by her sister, Kate Strause, wife of Jeff, of Bernville, and brother, Kevin Gallagher, husband of Linda, of Spring Township. In addition to her husband, Bill, and parents, Joseph and Grace, she was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Gallagher.
Contributions in Pat's memory may be offered to the Alzheimer's Association, https://www.alz.org/, or an animal rescue of your choice.
