Patricia Ann Hofmann

Patricia Ann (Fordyce) Hofmann, 89, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center. She was the loving wife of Bernard Hofmann, with whom she shared 16 years of marriage.Â

Born in Reading on December 17, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Madeline Fordyce. Patricia graduated Central Catholic High School, Class of 1952, and went on to a career in interior design. She was employed by Wanamaker's department store and Boscov's for many years in the interior style, furniture, and women's clothing departments. She later worked as an independent interior designer, managing her own business, LifeStylers Interiors, for many years.Â

Patricia was a devout and lifelong member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. She was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing and competing, and previously served as president of the Women's Central Pennsylvania Golf Association.

Patricia is survived by husband, Bernard; stepsons Joseph Hofmann (Anne Barnes) of Lancaster, James Hofmann of Washington, D.C., and Steven Hofmann (Erica) of Shillington; stepdaughters Karen Van Dorn (Chris) of Charlotte, NC and Connie Hofmann (Colman O'Murchu) of Wayne, PA; step-daughter-in-law, Donna Wallace of Palm Desert, CA; step-grandchildren Amelia, Caroline, Benjamin, Thomas, Liam, Veronica, Mark, Maeve, David, and Damon; and five step-great grandchildren.Â

Patricia was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph Wallace, stepson Glen Wallace, and step-grandson Nicholas Van Dorn.Â

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 28th, 2024 at 11:00 am in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 1018 N. Eighth St. Reading, PA, 19604. The family will receive friends and relatives at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery in Laureldale.Â

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.Â
