Patricia Anne Burns

Patricia Anne (nee Hoffman) Burns, 76, of Spring Township, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, February 1, 2016 at her residence.

She devotedly cared for her beloved husband, Walter Raymond Burns, Sr., for many years until he went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, January 19, 2016.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Norman J. and Ruth E. (Weir) Hoffman.

She was a graduate of Robesonia High School.

Patricia and her husband Walter, owned and operated Burns Personnel Inc., a professional placement service for 22 years. She previously worked for Carpenter Technology as a systems analyst and also Bank of Pennsylvania as an administrative trainer.

Patricia surrounded herself with beautiful music. She and Walt enjoyed attending musical events such as the symphony and ballet. She also enjoyed playing for friends and family and participated in a local orchestra.

She had a kind heart for everyone, especially those in need.

Patricia had a soft spot for stray animals, many of which were fortunate enough to become her pets.

She was a member of Community Bible Church, Spring Township.

Patricia will always be cherished by her sister, Janet and husband, Randall Harbach, Womelsdorf; nephew, H. Allen, husband of Nicole Schaeffer, Robesonia; four step-children: Walter R. Burns Jr., fiancée of Gloria, FL; Claire Jane, wife of Alfred Neri, Exeter Township; P. Mark Burns, fiancée of Jane, VA and Dennis S. Burns, CA. and numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Patricia was predeceased by step-daughter, Karen L. Burns.

Services will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be in St. John (Hain's) Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
