Patricia D. Arentz

Patricia D. Arentz, 97, of Wyomissing, passed away on April 10, 2023, at Laureldale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center after a two-week hospital stay at Penn State Health St. Joseph Hospital. Patricia celebrated over 50 years of marriage as the beloved wife of the late John C. Arentz (passing in 1998). Born in Reading, she was the daughter of Clytia and John S. Bilek.

She was a 1943 graduate of Central Catholic High School and worked at Textile Machine Works following graduation. Patricia also worked at Wyomissing New Home Savings and Loan. She was a woman of great faith and a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Parish where she held various offices, including President of Sacred Heart Seniors. Patricia loved working in her garden, planting flowers, sitting on her porches, putting puzzles together, baking, and the beach, spending summer vacations in LBI. She enjoyed watching tennis, golf, and football.

Patricia was a wonderful wife and mother. She leaves two children, Jeffrey C. Arentz and Colleen V. Whitehouse, wife of W. John Whitehouse, and two grandchildren, Sean C. of York and Brett A. of Philadelphia. She also leaves a sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023, in the vestibule of Sacred Heart Church, 740 Cherry Street, West Reading, PA 19611, before the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Committal will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church in her name.
