Otis S. Herb, 88, died November 27, 2012, in The Heritage of Green Hills.

He was the husband of Edna E. (Scott) Herb for 65 years. They were married on June 21, 1947.

Born in Valley View, PA, he was a son of the late Ray and Alverta (Reed) Herb.

He was a 1942 graduate of The Milton Hershey School.

Otis was a U.S. Navy veteran during WWII. He served in the Pacific on Midway and other islands.

He was the owner and operator of Otis Herb Construction Company, Philadelphia for 20 years. After retiring at age 62, he passed the company to his son, Kenneth.

Otis attended Immanuel United Church of Christ, Shillington. He was a long standing member of United Methodist Christ Church, Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

He was a member of Unit 5 SeaBees in Ft. Lauderdale, and a member of The Heritage Veterans group.

Otis loved golf, nature, his business and working in construction.

He loved his wife and family, and had many friends. He will be missed dearly by all who loved him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Robert S., husband of Pam Herb, Huntington Beach, CA; Kenneth S., husband of Linda Herb, The Villages, FL and Ronald K., husband of Robin Herb, Cumru Township; two sisters, Elsie Erk and June Ebbert; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Otis was predeceased by one sister, Vivian and four brothers, Phaon, James, Jay and John.

Memorial Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Immanuel UCC, 99 S. Waverly St., Shillington, PA 19607. Burial will be private in Hillside Cemetery, Glenside.
