Orland K. Lemay

Orland K. LeMay, Sr., 75 of Exeter Township died August 4 th , 2017 in the Reading Hospital & Medical Center. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Moyer) LeMay. Orland was born in Council Grove, KS. and was the son of the late Charles LeMay and Lena Mae (Pratt) Zorn. He was a U.S. States Army Veteran and was stationed in Germany and later served in Vietnam as a Staff Sargent in the Combat Infantry Unit Big Red 1 and was a Purple Heart Recipient. He was a wastewater treatment superintendent for Sinking Spring borough for 28 years, retiring in 1997. Orland was a life member and Past Post Commander of Hunter-Liggett V.F.W, Post #38, Reading. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Barbara L. LeMay, Exeter Township, Kim wife of David Shefter, Windsor Township, and Orland K. LeMay, Jr. and his wife Heidi, Exeter Township, five grandchildren, David and Nathan Shefter, Hamburg, Darren Shefter, Windsor Township, Kayla and Leah LeMay, both of Exeter Township, and three great-grandchildren, Jaxen, Madelynn and Hayden. Orland's five siblings also survive, Sharon Miller, Edinburg, TX, Shirley Marple, Iola, KS, Eddie LeMay, Strong City, KS, Karen Davis, Herber Springs, AR and Jerry LeMay, Council Grove, KS. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 1:00 PM from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc., 40 S. 4 th Street, Hamburg. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until time of service. Ray A. Master Post #217, Topton, will perform full Military Honors at Jim Dietrich Park, 4899 Stoudts Ferry Bridge Road, Reading, PA. Immediately following the memorial service on Thursday.
