Ora Jean Gasser

Ora Jean Gasser, 92, passed away December 6, 2015, in the Reading Hospital.

She was the beloved wife of Walter R. Gasser who died September 3, 2011.

Born in Montoursville, she was the daughter of Martin L. and Jenny Ray (Conrad) Kehrer.

Ora was a graduate of Montoursville High School.

She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Stony Creek. Ora was a co-leader for the Bluebirds, member of the Stony Creek Women's Auxiliary Club and den mother of Cub Scout Troop 177.

Ora was employed by Reed's Department Store as a hairdresser. She also worked for Pomeroy's Department Stores and Boscov's Department Stores until retiring.

She enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, sewing and her crossword puzzles.

Ora is survived by her three children: Allan R., husband of Lisa L. (Moyer) Gasser of Cumru Township; Carol J. (Gasser) Elbert of Exeter Township and Janice L. (Gasser), wife of Richard E. Croft of Exeter Township; sibilings, Thomas Kehrer, Williamsport, Helen Kitchen, Williamsport, Margie Snyder, Williamsport, and Julia Grove, Indiana. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Joe, Melissa, Jessica, Tiffany, Tracy and Deborah; nine great grandchildren, Natalie, Olivia, Caitlyn, Brayden, Collin, Cooper, Tyler, Eric and Rachel and a great great granddaughter, Arianna.

She was predeceased by her brother, Charles Kehrer

A memorial service will be held on December 10, 2015 at 12 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Ave., West Reading with burial to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
