Norman A. Voigt passed away on September 8, 2010 in St. Joseph's Medical Center after a valiant 13 year battle with cancer.
He was born in 1934 in Chicago, the son of Julia Voigt nee Zaines. He was a graduate from Morgan Park Military Academy in Morgan Park, IL and Bradley University in Peoria, IL where he was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity.
Norm served 3 years in the Air Force and left as a Captain and returned to Chicago to enter Illinois Bell Management Training Program. In 1970 he went to AT&T in New York where he retired in 1987.
He leaves his widow, Myra Voigt nee McMahon and daughters Nancy Osborne, wife of Glenn, Aurora, CO and Maggie Hessel, wife of Kit, South Riding VA. There are five grandsons, Michael, Stephen and Gregory Osborne and Cole and Christian Hessel. He was predeceased by two sisters, June Voigt and Jacqueline Missar.
He was a duplicate bridge player and a bridge director. He directed for Berks Montgomery Bridge Unit 121, Jewish Cultural Center and West Side Bridge at Atonement Lutheran Church, A family memorial will be held at a later date. Edward J.
