Norman E. Hunsicker, 88, of Green Hills and formerly of Temple, died April 15 at 11:09 a.m. in St. Joseph's Hospital where he had been for two days.
He was the husband of Marian C. (Camelleri) Hunsicker.
Hunsicker was born in Summit Hill, PA.
He was first employed as the owner/operator of Weldrite, Reading for a number of years. Later he taught welding at Reading High School. Finally, he was employed by Polymer Corp., as a mechanic until his retirement.
Hunsicker was both a co-founder and driver for the Muhlenberg Ambulance Association.
He was a volunteer for both Meals on Wheels and ManorCare, Laureldale.
Hunsicker was a lifetime member of the Central Fire Co., Laureldale.
He was a graduate of Muhlenberg High School in 1935.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two step-daughters, Faye M. (Stalbot) Valver, Myrtle Beach, SC and Marisa C. (Stalbot) Krasowski, Reading.
There are also 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He was also predeceased by one son Norman Hunsicker, II.
Services will be Tuesday at 12 noon in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Entombment in Gethsemane Mausoleum. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Muhlenberg Ambulance Association.
