Norman "Norm" P. Dick, 67, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 22, 2025 in his residence. He was the beloved husband of Patricia Schillo. They shared over 40 years full of laughter, love and wonderful memories.
Born in Altoona, and being raised in Roaring Spring, he was the son of Bertha (Helsel) Dick and the late Leroy Dick. Norm attended North Bedford County High School, and was a proud alumni from Shippensburg University, where he earned his Bachelor's of Science Degree. He built his career at The Reading Hospital/Tower Health system for over forty years. Even as a manager in the Information Management System Department, he looked forward to serving strawberry shortcakes at their annual Garden Party.
Norm enjoyed football, playing tennis, golf, and running. He often gave back to his community by competing in charity events, such as the Golf Bowl: a mini-golf tournament in themed costumes for Berks TALKLINE. He loved reminiscing and sharing a good laugh with his family and friends. He also served on the Board of Directors at Shippensburg University, and made donations to various campus organizations.
In addition to his wife, Patricia, those cherishing Norm's memory are his children, Gwendolyn Rodriguez, and Gregory Deland; a host of grandchildren; and his siblings: Wanda Musselman, and Richard Dick; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael Dick.
A Joy of Life Celebration will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home in West Reading. Friends may gather from 10 a.m. until the start of service. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Norm's memory to a Shippensburg Scholarship of your choice at https://www.sufoundation.org/.
Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home is honored to serve Norm's family. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
