Norman A. Bosold, 74, passed away peacefully in his sleep May 29, 2010 in his West Lawn residence.

He was the husband of Barbara Ann (Hoffman) Bosold, whom he married October 5, 1957.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Adam and Catherine (Gensley) Bosold.

Norman was a 1955 graduate of Reading High School. He also attended Penn State University.

He was an electrician for over 42 years, last working for the County of Berks, retiring in 2000.

Norman was very active in the community. He was past Master of Chandler Lodge 662, a member of the Scottish Rite and a committee person of the Republican Party of the 129th district. He was currently serving as Township Supervisor in Spring Township.

Norman possessed many fine talents; often lending a hand to family, friends and neighbors. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, riding his motorcycle and working on his house.

He was a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran. He then retired from the Navy Reserve as chief electrician's mate.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four children: Brett A., husband of Kelly Bosold, Lebanon; Jennifer A. Reppert, Wyomissing; Elizabeth A. Allen, Reading and Brenda A. Bosold, Pennside. He is also survived by his sister, Joan Brough, Reading. There are six grandchildren: Nicole, Laura, Andrew, Emily, Lyndsey and Madeline and four great grandchildren surviving.

Norman was predeceased by his brothers, Richard Bosold and Jerome Bosold.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Spies-Zion Cemetery. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
