Nora Florence Civitarese

Nora Florence (Hinkle) Civitarese, 100, of Wyomissing, passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side on Monday, August 3, 2026.

She was the wife of the late Frank Civitarese and the daughter of the late Fred and Mamie (Gambler) Hinkle. Nora is also predeceased by her siblings, Mary Ranalli and Fred Hinkle. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Frank, husband of the late Anne Civitarese, Anthony, husband of Lynn, and Mark Civitarese; her grandchildren Frank Jr., Tara, and Kelly Civitarese; one great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. 

Born in Laureldale, Nora attended school through 10th grade before embarking on her next journey in life. She married the love of her life, Frank, with whom she built a family with.

Nora was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She dedicated her life to raising her children while also working part-time at Luden's Candy Factory and Fine and Glass. Her love was felt by all those who met her: The kids in her neighborhood lovingly referred to her as, "Mrs. C." In her free time, she enjoyed playing Bingo and the lottery. She had a knack for artistry, drawing and painting frequently throughout her life.

She will be missed dearly by everyone in her family and all those who knew her.

A funeral service in Nora's memory will be held at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading PA 19611 on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at 11:00 AM. A public viewing will be held prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Rd, Reading PA 19605. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or online at stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.
