Born in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, and raised in New York, Nilda Ivette Cintron-Ortiz, was a woman whose heart was always centered on family. Known lovingly as Evelyn, she was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, a caring sister, and a mother figure to many who were blessed to have her in their lives.

On April 15, 1988, Evelyn married her beloved husband, Ramon Luis Cintron Rivera, beginning a chapter of life filled with shared memories and the bonds of family. Together, they built a life that would leave a lasting imprint on the hearts of those closest to them.

Evelyn was a hardworking woman who always gave her best, no matter what life brought her way. Through the good times and the hardest days, she continued to show up for the people she loved. Her family was her greatest priority, and she had a special way of showing her love through her care, her efforts, and the countless little things she did for others. She may not have had an easy road every day, but she always tried her best, and that love will never be forgotten.

Those who knew Evelyn will remember her lively spirit, her sense of humor, and the way she could always find a reason to joke and make others smile. She loved dancing and listening to music, enjoying the rhythm and happiness it brought into her life. She found joy in the simple pleasures, whether working on a puzzle, completing a crossword, creating beautiful party decorations, or sitting down to watch her favorite novelas. And if you were lucky enough to enjoy one of her home-cooked meals, you knew that Evelyn had a special gift for bringing people together through food and love.

But if there was one thing that filled Evelyn's heart more than anything else, it was her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved each of them with everything she had, and they brought her a special kind of happiness that words can hardly describe. Her love was not limited to her own children and grandchildren, either. Evelyn had a nurturing heart that extended beyond her family, becoming a mother figure to others and offering warmth, care, and love to those who needed it.

Evelyn's life was made up of the moments that matter most: family gathered together, music playing, laughter filling a room, food shared around a table, and memories created with the people she loved. These are the moments her family will hold close, finding comfort in the thought that a part of her will always remain in the traditions, stories, and love they continue to share.

Though her absence leaves an immeasurable emptiness, Evelyn's legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, siblings, and everyone whose life she touched. Her laughter will be remembered, her love will be carried forward, and the lessons she taught through her strength and dedication will remain for generations to come.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ramon Luis Cintron Rivera, and her mother, Nilda Robles.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her father, Antonio Ortiz; her children, Raymond Cintron-Ortiz, Eliezer Cintron-Ortiz, and Griseliz Cintron-Ortiz; her siblings, Dalis Ortiz, Sonia Ortiz, Jose Ortiz, and Emerida Ortiz; and her beloved grandchildren, Yaidalyn Cintron-Diaz, Damiri Cintron, Raymond Cintron-Ortiz Jr. II, Alani I. Cintron, Eliana J. Mosteller, Joshua M. Mosteller Jr., and Enoch Cintron.

Evelyn will forever be loved, deeply missed, and lovingly remembered. Though life has called her away from the people she cherished, the love she gave will never leave them. Every song that brings a smile, every family gathering filled with laughter, and every memory shared around the table will serve as a beautiful reminder of the woman who meant so much to so many.

Her greatest legacy was not simply the life she lived, but the love she left behind.
