Nicola Perta

Nicola "Nick" Perta, 93, of 3522 West Kent Road Laureldale died Wednesday March 27th at 2:29 p.m. in the Emergency Room at St. Joseph Medical Center, Reading.

He was the husband of Grace Elizabeth (Villani) Perta in Manor Care Health Services, Muhlenberg Township.

Born in San Marco, Italy, he was a son of the late Michael and Rachel (Guliana) Perta.

Perta was employed for 31 years as a tailor by L. Grief & Brothers, Baltimore, and was a self-employed tailor at his residence for 31 years last working Wednesday.

He was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.

Perta is also survived by a son, Michael, Dearborn, Mich.; and a daughter, Rachel (Perta) Cammarano, Laureldale.

Other survivors include five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Perta was predeceased by a brother and a sister, Anna (Perta) Soccio of Foggia, Italy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Holy Guardian Angels church, 3121 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, Pa 19605. Viewing will be held Monday evening from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale and Tuesday morning from 9:00 - 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum, Laureldale. Contributions may be made to the church.
