Nelson M. Epler, 91 of Ruscombmanor Township, died May 25 at 9:15 p.m. in Reading Hospital where he had been since May 23.
His wife Hazel R. (Roberts) died July 23, 2003.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Morris L. and Eva S. (Sanders) Epler.
Epler was the owner operator of Epler's Broom Works, Shillington for 10 years, he also was a cab driver for Charlie's Cab Company, Reading. He then became the owner operator of Epler's Luncheonette, Reading and later of Epler's Seafood, Reading. He was employed as a machinist first by Bob Pohl's Machine Shop and later for Schuler's Machine Shop both of Reading. He concluded his work history as owner operator of Epler's Grove, Fleetwood for 23 years, where he also operated a catering business. Coinciding with Epler's Grove he also was the owner operator of "Mushroom Take Out Service", Fleetwood. He retired from Epler's Grove and "Mushroom Take Out Service" in 1990.
He was a member of Alsace Lutheran Church, Hyde Park.
Epler was a lifetime member of Northmont Fellowship and Kenhorst Fire Company.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia A. Miller, Fleetwood and two brothers, Paul Epler, Leesport and Lawrence Epler, Sinking Spring.
Services will be private. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements. Contributions may be made to Animal Rescue League P.O. Box 69 Mohnton, PA 19540.
