Nellie B. Smith

Nellie B. Smith, 100, formerly of Muhlenberg Park and Country Meadows, died February 16, 2008 in Phoebe Berks Health Care Center.

Her husband, Edward E. Smith, died in 1993.

Born in West Town, NY, she was a daughter of the late George E. and Lavina E. (Parsons) Goldsmith.

She was a hairdresser for 40 years.

Mrs. Smith was a member of Good Shepherd U.C.C., Tuckerton.

Nellie was an artist and enjoyed gardening and baking.

She is survived by her daughter, Lois M. widow of Norman L. Kauffman, Wyomissing. There are also four grandchildren, Cynthia Snyder, Wendy Ulrich, Roger Kauffman and Douglas Kauffman; five great-grandchildren, Michelle, Dena, Jenny, Marissa and Morgan; and one step-great-grandson, Michael; and five great-great-grandchildren, Brody, Alex, Logan, Olivia and Brooke.

She was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
