Neil Frank Royko of Sinking Spring, died peacefully at his home Thursday December 11, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. Neil is survived by his wife of 20 years Elaine Thomas Royko, sons Nicholas and Evan Royko all at home.
Neil was born in England. He came to America at the age of three months. He was the son of the late Frank Royko and Erica Royko who resides in Wyomissing.
He was a graduate of Millersville University with a degree in Computer Science and was a long time employee of Wells Fargo as Technology Manager International Systems.
A loving husband and father he spent most of his time with his family at the beach, traveling and supporting his sons in various sport teams. He was an avid golfer and loved all sports, particularly baseball. He coached a number of youth sports teams over the years.
He is also survived by James and Anne Thomas, Shillington; Steven and Ginny Simone and children Hannah and Samuel, Shillington; James and Amanda Thomas, South Heidelberg, and children Emma and Abigail; Aunt Patricia Smith, Reading, England and children Ian and Rachel Smith, Reading, England and children James, Thomas, Sam and Jessica; Sharon Farmer, Suffolk, England and children Matthew and Katherine.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. and a celebration of Neil's life with family and friends will be held at 6 p.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, PA 19611. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Neil's name may be made to "Stand Up to Cancer" C/O the American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Ave., Reading, PA 19605. Edward J.
