Nannette E. Evans, 69, of Alsace Township, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2012 in the Reading Hospital where she was a patient.

She was the wife of William R. Evans.

Born in Pottstown, she was a daughter of the late Ray I. and Margaret R. (Essick) Troxel.

She was a 1961 graduate of Oley Valley High School and was a member of Zion (Spies) Lutheran Church, Alsace Township.

She was employed as a Carrier for over 35 years with the Reading Eagle Company and Windsor Press prior to retiring in 2008.

She loved her ceramics and her love of all animals continued with her raising and caring for horses for over 40 years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter: Tricia M. Evans of Kenhorst and her sons; Michael R. Evans of Dauberville and William R. Evans, Jr. of Laureldale. She is also survived by her brother: Robert Troxel of Exeter Township and her aunt, Cora Essick of Pottstown and uncle, Richard Essick of St. Peters Village as well as her 3 grandchildren: Ray-Michael, Dalton and William.

A memorial service will be held in Zion (Spies) Lutheran Church 310 Spies Church Road, Reading, Pa. 19606 on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Spies (Zion) Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the church at the address above or the Humane Society of Berks County, 1801 N. 11th Street, Reading, Pa. 19604.
