Nancy L. (Holdeman) Suruskie, 80, of Sinking Spring, passed away on August 27, 2017 in the Reading Hospital.
She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Frank G. Suruskie, whom she married on January 26, 1957.
Born in West Reading, she was the daughter of the late Phares C. and Margaret A. (Leisey) Holdeman.
She was a 1954 graduate of West Reading High School. During her high school years, she enjoyed swimming on the swim team during the summer months.
Nancy was employed as a clerk for many years in various retail establishments. After her retirement, she loved being a homemaker and spending time with her loving family.
She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church of West Reading.
Nancy loved to bake. She was especially famous for her Shoofly pies. In her spare time, she enjoyed crossword puzzles and scratch off tickets.
She was a breast cancer survivor who was described as the sweetest woman on Earth. The most important thing to Nancy was her family. Nancy was a loving wife, mother, mom-mom, and great-grandmother. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband she is survived by five children: Risa N., wife of Silvio Quarantotto, Spring Twp.; Bradley K., husband of Patti Suruskie, Exeter Twp.; Steven F., husband of Sharon K. Suruskie, Sinking Spring; Trisha J. Ferro, Wernersville; and Holly A., wife of Victor Berube, Kenhorst; nine grandchildren: Tony, Gina, Nick, Kristen, Tyler, Heather, Carly, Vincent, and Joshua; seven great-grandchildren: Micah, Bella, Leland, Layson, Carter, Vincent, Jr., and Sophia; and three siblings: Joyce H. Fisher, Wyomissing; William T. Holdeman, OH; and Mary. M. Fasnacht, Wernersville.
She was predeceased by her sister Patricia O'Neill.
All are welcome to attend a visitation on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, from 9-10:30 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service in Bethany Lutheran Church, 336 Franklin St, West Reading, PA 19611. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading, is entrusted with arrangements.
