Nancy J. Mertz

Nancy J. (nee Krug) Mertz, 82 formerly of Spring Township, died February 18, 2015, in Johnston-Willis Hospital, Richmond, VA.

Her husband, Ernest M. Mertz, died January 11, 2008.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Anthony M. and Loretta J. (Gieringer) Krug.

She was a 1950 graduate of Central Catholic High School.

Nancy was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.

She is survived by two children, James A. Mertz, Saylorsburg and Carol J. Spontarelli, Midlothian, VA; one sister, Lucille M., wife of Donald A. Ertel, Shillington; Granddaughter Gina Garner, wife of Matthew Garner, Midlothian, VA and great granddaughter Aubrey Garner, and Grandson Adam Spontarelli, husband of Elise Spontarelli, Lynchburg, VA and great grandson Isaac Spontarelli.

Nancy was predeceased by her brother, Richard C. Krug.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, February 27, 2015 at 11 a.m. in St. Ignatius Loyola R. C. Church, 2810 Saint Albans Drive, Sinking Spring, PA 19608. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum. Friends may call Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West. Reading.
