Nancy L. Boland, 83, of Wyomissing, passed away at 12:45 a.m. on April 29, 2010 surrounded by family at ManorCare, Laureldale.
Nancy is survived by her husband Lawrence F. Boland. They were married April 17, 1948.
Born Anna Louise ("Nancy Lou") in Schuylkill Haven on July 11, 1926, she was the daughter of John Foster and Anna (Cleary) Lebengood.
Nancy was a 1943 graduate of Reading Central Catholic High School where she was the captain of their cheerleading squad. Nancy graduated in 1947 from St. Joseph College, in Emmitsburg, MD, with a Bachelor's degree in Business, and a minor in Spanish.
Nancy chaired the first Greenfields auxiliary board of St. Joseph's Hospital and remained a life-long member as did her mother before her. She was a long-term member of St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, Reading.
Nancy was a Real Estate agent for over two decades. She also worked for almost thirty years with the former Ruth, Ward & Crump law firm.
She was a member of the Berkshire Country Club for thirty years. Nancy also was a model for John Wanamaker's department store.
Nancy loved spending time with all her family. She looked forward to annual trips to the seashore at Ocean City, New Jersey. Nancy loved wearing hats and dressed fashionably. She never forgot a birthday or a holiday and loved to orchestrate and cook for large family gatherings. She enjoyed playing pinochle with family, and was always willing to help others in need.
In addition to her husband, Lawrence, Nancy is survived by four sons, Lawrence F. Boland, Philippi, West Virginia; Attorney J. Patrick Boland, League City, TX; Attorney Michael C. Boland and his wife Kathleen, Flying Hills; Stephen E. Boland and his wife Marit, New York; and one daughter, Elizabeth A., wife of Michael Fedorowich, Spring Township. Nancy was also the loving grandmother of ten grandchildren and great-grandmother to three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, John Lebengood.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 4 at noon at the Chapel of the Resurrection at Gethsemane Cemetery, Kutztown Road, Laureldale . Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.
