Nancy L. Helbert

Nancy L. Helbert, 80, of West Lawn, passed away Monday, November 22, 2021, in the care of Reading Hospital. She was the widow of Howard J. Helbert, who passed away April 4, 1999. Born in Reading to the late Charles and Verna (Hoffman) Beck, Nancy graduated from Reading High School in 1958. She spent most of her career with Western Electric/Lucent/ATT until her retirement in the mid-1990's.

A strong and opinionated woman, Nancy was determined to live long enough to vote in the 2020 Presidential election. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed crosswords and the game show network. She loved playing cards at her brother and sister-in-laws homes. She was a member of the West Wyomissing Fire Company's Lady Auxiliary.

Left to treasure Nancy's memory are her daughter, Denise Stitt (Eric T. Stitt), son Howard J. Helbert Jr., both of West Lawn, and step-daughter Kathleen H. Higginbotham (widow of Willard); grandchildren Kayla M. Crayton (Richie Crayton II), Eric Stitt Jr., Ronald Helbert, Bethany Helbert, and Benjamin Helbert (Fiance of Emily); brothers Richard C. (Betty), Charles Jr. (Georgean), and Herman (widower of Jackie). Nancy was predeceased by her sister, Gladys, and Gladys's husband, Jesse Tavenner.

Services for Nancy will be held on Monday, November 29, 2021, at 12:30 PM, at the Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, with committal to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
