Nancy H. Custo

Nancy H. Custo, 99, formerly of Shillington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 18, 2026, in the care of Berks Heim.

Born in Reading to the late Nathaniel and Sarah (Yerger) Custo, Nancy graduated from Shillington High School in 1944. She went on the Reading Business Institute, graduating in 1945 with a medical secretary diploma. She worked for several years as a medical secretary at Reading Hospital.

In her younger years, Nancy enjoyed country dancing. She was an independent woman and enjoyed taking solo day trips. She was a member of the Kenhort Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Nancy also was a member and frequent volunteer for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.

Nancy's family would like to express their appreciate for the wonderful care Nancy received over the years from the staff of Berks Heim, especially the team on B-1.

Her memory will be treasured by her sons, Edward W. Albrecht (Kathy) of Daphne, AL, and Bruce L. Albrecht (Karen) of West Reading; grandchildren: Michael Albrecht (Sherril); Ryan Miller (Diana); Joshua Albrecht; and Ashley Albrecht; and great grandchildren, Hunter Albrecht and Analeigh Miller.

A Commital Service will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Yocom Cemetery, 840 Philadelphia Ave, Reading PA 19607. Friends and family are welcome to pay their respects from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading PA 19611.
