Nancy Elizabeth (Brown) Degler, 64, of Muhlenberg Township, died August 15, 2009 in Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was the wife of E. Stewart Degler whom she married October 22, 1966.
Born in Pottstown, she was a daughter of the late H. Roger and S. Eleanor (Ramsay) Brown.
Nancy was a 1962 graduate of Mount Penn High School.
She was employed as a key punch operator for The Bachman Company for 5 years. Subsequently, she enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her three sons.
She was a member of Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Muhlenberg Township.
Nancy enjoyed traveling throughout the world and riding a tandem bicycle with her husband and friends in the United States and Europe.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Jeffrey S., husband of Linda S. (Rittershofer) Degler of Bedford, NH; Douglas A., husband of Kristen M. (Minnich) Degler of Stroudsburg and David M., husband of Jocelyn S. (Duhaime) Degler of Concord, NH.
Other survivors include a sister, Janet L. (Brown), wife of James H. Greth of Exeter Township and a brother, James R., husband of Susan (Evans) Brown of Birdsboro.
Nancy is survived by eight grandchildren: Emilia, Benjamin, Zachary, Ryan, Meri Brooke, Dylan, Abigail and Sarah.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, 170 Tuckerton Road, Reading, PA 19605. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services in the church. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
