Nancy L. Coleman

Nancy L. Coleman, 81, passed away peacefully in her Wyomissing home on June 14, 2021.

On August 15, 2021, she would have celebrated 62 years of marriage with her husband, Robert B. Coleman.

Born in Reading Nancy was the only child of the late Harold A. and Dorothy M. (Fisher) Kissinger. Nancy graduated from Wilson High School in 1957 and later completed her Associates Degree at Reading Area Community College. She retired in 2002 after 21 years at NGK Metals of Reading.

Nancy was a member of Holy Cross United Methodist Church, formerly known as Calvary United Methodist Church. Committed to her community and her church, Nancy was a member of the Pastor-Parish Relations Committee, and she also served as a local judge of elections for 22 years.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Nancy was invested in her children's education; she served as Treasurer of the Berkshire Heights Grade School PTA. She and Bob travelled to many band competitions and cross country meets during their children's high school and college years. Later, they attended many soccer games and other events to support their grandchildren.

She was a woman who enjoyed having a good time, and she loved to hear stories of other people's mischief (even though Nancy was not a very mischievous person herself). She enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends, especially to Anguilla in the British West Indies, Switzerland, Alaska, and Ontario, Canada. In her later years, she enjoyed bowling and many Reading Phillies games.

Nancy's memory is treasured by her husband, Robert; their children, Jeffrey R. (Donna) Coleman of Wernersville and Susan N. (Glen) Phillips of Reading; and their grandchildren, Taylor L. Coleman, Joshua R. Coleman, and Samuel A. Phillips.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Nancy's memory may be offered to the Holy Cross U.M.C., office located at 329 N 5th St, Reading, PA 19601, or to the Alzheimer's Association: Greater Pennsylvania Chapter - Lancaster Office, 706 Rothsville Rd #8504, Lititz, PA 17543.

A Memorial Service for Nancy will be held Friday, June 25, 2021, at 6 pm at Holy Cross United Methodist Church at 831 N. Wyomissing Blvd, Wyomissing, PA, with the Rev. Mandy Miller officiating. The family will receive guests beginning at 5:00 pm at the church.
